DIGITAL COMICS: Flashpoint will not be Day-and-Date

Sad news for comic fans hoping to enjoy the DC Comics Day-and-Date release of Flashpoint on their iPad or portable device – It ain’t gonna happen. According to The Source, DC’s official blog and company news feed, Flashpoint, and all the related tie-in issues, including issues of Booster Gold that tie to the series, will be released four weeks after the print issues arrive in stores. DIGITAL COMICS: DC Comics and ComiXology unveil Digital Storefront Affiliate Program

Press Release From Metropolis to Gotham City, retailers everywhere will be able to sell digital comics from DC Comics through comiXology’s recently announced Digital Storefront Affiliate program, an initiative focused on empowering merchants to thrive in the digital marketplace. In addition, Image Comics (including Shadowline and Top Cow), BOOM! Studios, and Dynamite Entertainment have joined the program to have their content sold digitally through retailer Web sites with a comiXology-powered store and reader. Additionally, as announced at Comics Pro, retailers can sign up for a DC exclusive stand alone store.

DIGITAL COMICS: 100 Words features Gaiman/Lee collab

DC Comics FINALLY comes to the iPad and iPod Touch – Thumbs nose at Marvel with Day and Date release

It came as a big surprise this morning that DC Comics FINALLY got around to offering up their creating a digital comics application for the iPad and iPhone (and iPod Touch).  The application is by ComiXology, the same group that puts out the very well done ComiXology, Marvel, and BOOM!
