This past Friday, I received an email that caught not only my attention, but also many others who go to New York Comic Con, arguably the most-attended comics convention each year.
On Friday, another dream of mine was announced as coming true! Marvel (and if it’s successful, other companies will follow suit) is going to start advertising in movie theaters as well as on TV, as seen in this news item here at MajorSpoilers.com! I mean, I know so many fans who have been longing for this to take place! It really came into focus with a lot of us with the first Iron Man film from Marvel Studios. Why not point out you can buy comics about this character at the same time?
When you’ve been around as many local comics shops as I have, you come to dread hearing the folks who work there say certain things. Now, I appreciate all these folks do for me and other fans, but sometimes you just have to cringe when they make their customers unhappy, to say the least.
Is selling comics at $2.99 ruining the industry? Should comics be priced higher? How much is too much? $8.99?
One of the big news stories this past week had to do with Karen Berger getting a new imprint called Berger Books as part of Dark Horse Comics!
What’s the most important part of a comic? The art or the script (story)?
Even with decades of them under our belts, team-ups are still fun!

An interesting change has happened at DC regarding this same concern. I also found out more information I wasn’t aware of regarding digital code redemption, which I want to briefly talk about as well.
As posted in a news release here at MajorSpoilers.com, Marvel has revised their policy regarding redeeming digital codes.
It’s a brand new year, this 2017, and while I’m not much for resolutions, I do want to look ahead to things I want to see happen in the 12 months ahead! See if you have similar goals in mind! Together, we can make the comic book industry a better place, I feel!
A friend of mine was telling me just how much he doesn’t like it when “real life” people appear in comics books. He prefers they stick to fictional presidents, actors, and even celebrities. That got me thinking, so let me share my thoughts on this subject with you.
Recently Stephen Schleicher was interested in our thoughts on this subject: “Is the drop in (November) sales due to the holidays, or something else? You have the data, so now it is up to you to draw your own conclusions and share the information in the comment section below.” I’d like to weigh in on this subject since I have some thoughts about what’s happening.
