This past week was a busy one, and it’s leading into what I like to call “Distributor Wars” because lines are being drawn regarding who will get to send what to which stores.
Last week, I wondered out loud what the future of Diamond Distributors might hold, even if it has one at all. There has been a LOT of conversation regarding what changes some would like to see happen when the Coronavirus eventually fades away, so I thought this time I’d talk about what could take place or at least considered as we move forward.
The first Wednesday without new paper comics has come and gone, and the Coronavirus is still rocking the industry! Could we have seen the last of Diamond Comics Distributors?
Comic shops are closed! What are we gonna do!?
The Coronavirus escalated, hitting local comics shops this past week. Will we actually get back to where we were before whenever things finally wind down? At least, we hope it will pass us by, and the sooner, the better!
More comic conventions were postponed or cancelled this week, and that was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to changes in pop culture due to the Coronavirus.
Last week, I mentioned in my column about the Coronavirus and its impact on C2E2. Wow, has a lot happened since then! Several cons have had to shut down or postpone their events, leaving creators reacting, well, creatively!
It’s time to launch into a new year of comic conventions, and it looks like this will be an interesting and transformational year for comic cons!
As of this writing, comic book fans are coming to terms with the departure of Dan DiDio from DC Comics, who served as the co-publisher for the company for 18 years. Where will DC go from here?
As seen here at MajorSpoilers, DC is making changes or updates to their history/continuity. I’m conflicted about whether this will be a good thing or not.

Something I have long hoped for is actually happening! Comic books are coming to a theater near you—at least the Regal Cinemas and Landmark Cinemas showing Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)!
DC is gearing up for an 80th anniversary celebration for Robin in March, 2020. However, there’s quite a controversy going on in several online forums about just who this event should really be about!
