Pulp Secret and Iron Man

We weren’t able to attend the San Diego Comic-Con this year, but I think we did a pretty good job at bringing you some of the highlights. And when we can’t get you the exclusives, we’ll rely on others to bring the goods to you. Pulp Secret was a the Marvel booth for the big unveiling of the Iron Man Mark I armor seen in the movie. Dinner with Joss Pays Off Big

I mentioned a couple weeks ago about the big Dark Horse, eBay, and Auction Cause dinner with Joss Whedon that was being auctioned off for SDCC. Today, Dark Horse let Major Spoilers know the event was a huge success bringing in $61,716. “I’m more or less overwhelmed. The generosity of the bidders—all of them—is greater than I could have expected. Equality Now needs this money for its vital work and I’m thrilled at the amount this event has raised,” said Joss Whedon in a prepared statement. “My grateful thanks to Dark Horse, to MySpace, eBay and Auction Cause—and mad props…

Angel Gets His Season Six

With the success of Buffy: Season 8, fans have been wondering if Angel would get a similar treatment. Word out of San Diego is, indeed Angel will have a series that follows the end of the hit television show that ran on the WB. Angel: After the Fall will be a canoncial series written by Brian Lynch and released by IDW Publishing. You may be familiar with Brian’s work on Spike: Asylum, and if you aren’t, you should be, as this is the title the Joss Whedon read and suggested IDW hire Brian on as Angel’s writer. Art for the…

When Will We See a Sandman Movie?

Neil Gaiman made an appearance at the Paramount Panel last night at the San Diego Comic-Con and had this to say. “I’ve been saying since 1991, I’d rather see no ‘Sandman’ movie than a bad ‘Sandman’ movie made. I think the time of a good ‘Sandman’ movie is getting closer. With luck, we’ll see the ‘Death’ movie first ’cause that’s small and cheap and I’m going to direct it. [A ‘Sandman’ movie] needs someone with the passion of a Peter Jackson for ‘Lord of the Rings’ or Sam Raimi on ‘Spider-Man’ to get the film through Warner Bros.” So there…

Darwyn Cooke to Leave the Spirit

Man, this is sucky news from Comic-Con. During the Darwyn Cooke Spotlight panel, Cooke say he and J. Bone would be leaving The Spirit with issue #12. The series will continue with other writers. This sucks, because it is clear Cooke really understands how to tell a Spirit story. The few issues that have come out that he hasn’t penned have – how shall I say this – weren’t up to par with the Cooke authored tales. Cooke did say he has two graphic novels planned for the next two years – an all ages fairy tale and a tale…

Mondo Marvel Panel Highlights

Captain Marvel gets a new title with Brian Reed writing and Lee Weeks doing the art work. It’s not one of those stories where Mar-vel comes back from the dead, rather a time-travel story where the Captain comes to grips with his death. More highlights from the Mondo Marvel Panel after the jump.
