Sonofagun!  For the last year, I’ve been faithfully saving my Anti-Monitor points from Mattel’s Infinite Heroes line.  I was hoping it would lead up to a major reveal where toy fans could mail away for a humongous Anti-Monitor, or at least some special figure not found anywhere else. Newsarama has broken the story that both Wizard World LA and Wizard World Texas have cancelled their upcoming shows. WizardWorld LA was scheduled for March 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center; and Dallas for November 6-8. Newsarama confirmed the information about the L.A. show early Friday afernoon when a spokesperson for the L.A. Convention Center said that they that had been notified via voicemail on Friday morning that Wizard was canceling its show. Other sources have confirmed for Newsarama that the Texas show has been cancelled as well. This is both something expected and a bit of a shock. …

Last night at the Baltimore Comic-Con, the Harvey Awards – the industry’s oldest and most respected – were handed out for outstanding achievement in 20 different categories.  It’s the morning after (or afternoon depending on what time zone you are in), and Major Spoilers has the rundown of the winners. The big winners of the night came from DC Comics, with All Star Superman bringing in three awards and The Perry Bible Fellowship bringing in two.  Congrats go out to all the winners!

While there were some interesting tid-bits of news that floated out of the Diamond/ Alliance Retailer Summits last week in Las Vegas, the biggest and best news was announced yesterday as the company stated it had raised $20,000 to benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, The HERO Initiative and ProLiteracy. “Our retailers really opened their wallets and checkbooks to support these worthwhile charities. It was great to see such generosity by our west coast retailers and we expect to see the same from our retailers attending the Ft.
