Argentine artist Julian Totino Tedesco will draw the third in a series of exclusive Wizard World variant covers of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead #1 comic for Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, May 30 – June 2, it was announced today by Wizard World and Skybound, Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics. The covers proved to be extremely popular at Portland Comic Con in February and St. Louis Comic Con in March, celebrating the groundbreaking, Eisner Award-winning comic book series.
Rob Guillory and John Layman have started the tradition of releasing special variant cover editions of Chew issues during the San Diego Comic-Con and the cover for this year’s variant has just been revealed. Take the jump for the Kill Bill cover for Chew #35.

Actress Gina Torres, who played “Zoë Washburne” in “Firefly,” and Serenity, will attend Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, joining fellow cast members Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, and Jewel Staite at the event, set for May 30 – June 2 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Aspen Comics will be appearing at this weekend’s Long Beach Comic Expo on Saturday, May 11th, and will be offering exclusive Aspen convention items and more for the one-day event. Aspen creators Frank Mastromauro (Shrugged, Overtaken), Peter Steigerwald (Zoo Hunters, Soulfire), Vince Hernandez (Charismagic, Executive Assistant: Assassins), Mark Roslan (BubbleGun, Broken Pieces), Beth Sotelo (Fathom, Shrugged), David Wohl (Legend of the Shadow Clan, Fathom) and Jonathan Marks (Shrugged) will be appearing all day long at the Aspen Comics Booth and will be available for signatures and free sketches.

This Saturday, May 11, children, parents, teachers, and comic fans will be transported to a world of wondrous imagination, fun and learning as the KIDS COMIC CON 7 (KCC 7) rockets to earth at Bronx Community College from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The annual event has an out-of-this-world theme this year: Sci-Fact to Sci-Fiction, Where Creativity and Technology Meet.

Do you remember how much fun you had at the Malta Comic Con 2012? How good it felt to meet all the awesome guests and creators that exhibited at our show? The rush you felt seeing your favourite creators sign and sketch? Do you remember how amazing it was to spend 2 days with so many wicked folk, discussing and doing the things you like most? Of course you do! How can you forget when we all had such a blast at the show? All those lovely people in costumes, all the buzz in the video game rooms, the thrill of tabletop and role playing games with the wicked folk at W.A.R.S, all those informative and entertaining talks, discussion panels and workshops! And what about all the free movies? The portfolio reviews, those impressive exhibitions and most of all, the fun filled atmosphere experienced during the whole 2 days of the convention!
Now that C2E2 has finished, it’s time to take a look at what DC brought to the show, because a booth wasn’t one of them.
As the X-Men franchise prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, Marvel has big plans involving all of the ongoing X-Men series.
Last year, when Dan Slott was teasing the heck out of the then upcoming Superior Spider-Man, he made a comment about Miguel O’Hara making an appearance. Fans of Spider-Man 2099 having been waiting for that appearance to occur, and at C2E2 this weekend, it was revealed not if, but when the characters makes his appearance.
As is hinted at in the upcoming Wolverine movie, Logan just wants to be an average ordinary guy. While we won’t know the fate of the Hugh Jackman character for a while yet, Marvel is getting into the powering down of Wolverine in August with “Killable” by Paul Cornell and Alan Davis.
