Last night actress Anne Hathaway made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. There is a lot of talk about the movie, and toward the end, Letterman throws out the ending for the film that may or may not be true (though I think it just might be). Better watch it now, before someone decides the video violates something or other…

When the CW airs its new Beauty and the Beast television drama, you’ll see a very familiar (and beautiful) face on the small screen.
There are few television intros that are super memorable. The Rifleman was one of those intros… Yup, Chuck Conners was pretty cool rockin’ the Winchester 1892 and not taking guff from nobody. Of course that was waaaaaay back in 1958 (to 1963), and most of us have probably never seen a single episode, but that isn’t stopping CBS from digging into the vault and resurrecting the property as a new series. Chris Columbus is set to executive produce and direct the series. via Variety
Press Release IDW Publishing and CBS Consumer Products are continuing the comic book series based on the cult favorite television show that the fans would not let die-JERICHO! Continuing directly from the finale of CBS’s post-apocalyptic drama, IDW will offer the complete JERICHO comic series from the original creative team behind the TV show. Debuting in 2006, CBS’s Jericho aired for two seasons, following residents of a fictional, post-apocalyptic town. “The creators and producers of Jericho are so excited about working with IDW to continue the comic book series,” said executive producer of Jericho, Dan Shotz. “Jericho thrives because of…
Oni Press has to be on cloud 9 this week at the San Diego Comic-Con. Scott Pilgrim is taking the show by storm, and now there’s word that the publisher has landed a first look deal with CBS Television. With Warner Bros. developing properties left and right, it’s a good sign that the networks are coming around to see what else is out there in the comic world that might make for interesting television. via Deadline
What are superheroes like when they take off their masks and drop their “heroic†persona? It is a common theme found in many comic books today. In fact, some books are based solely around this question, and they all have varying degrees of success. One of the more noteworthy examples of this is the 1987 run of Justice League (International), created by the living legend Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. In it, the comic showed the reader the politics, the in-fighting, and ultimately the humor that is unleashed behind closed JL headquarters’ doors. Sounds like a great sitcom, right? That’s…
We’ve reported about the third Ghostbusters movie, and the news that Venkman would die in the film. If you missed Late Night with David Letterman this week, you missed Murray confirming the story. If you listen closely, you’ll hear him almost dismiss the possibility of the movie getting made.
If you’re having Grace Park withdrawal after the end of Battlestar Galactica, you’ll be able to see the actress again real soon on CBS’ remake of Hawaii Five-O. The updated take on the original series centers on an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police headed by Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin). Park will play Kona Kalakaua, the niece of squad member Chin Ho Kelly. I already planned on watching the series, but now I have a reason to schedule it into my TiVo. via THR
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the brains behind Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, are planning on rebooting the Hawaii Five-O franchise for CBS Television. While there probably won’t be any transforming robots, visitors from the stars, or X-Files type conspiracies, one would hope the famous “Book ’em Dano” will survive intact as Steve McGarrett takes on the state’s toughest crimes, and investigates the mob. via Variety
From CBS the other night during some award ceremony or some such thing.
Did anyone pay really close attention to the set during last night’s “Big Bang Theory” of scenes set in the comic book shop? Obviously a lot of DC stuff is going to be around (CBS and Time/Warner have a lot of deals together), but last night there were a plethora of Dark Horse and Image comic properties around the set. What about Marvel? From what I could tell, there was nary a scrap. Is there a conspiracy afoot? Is someone not playing ball? Did someone fail to slip the money under the table? Discuss.
