The first of an epic, three part story arc, “Storm Over Ryloth” begins an in-depth look at the emotional tolls of the galactic conflict, as well as the price of failure when lives hang in the balance. The all-new episode of the hit animated series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT Friday, February 27, on Cartoon Network.

In the episode, the heroes of the Republic begin their campaign to free the planet Ryloth from the oppressive occupation of enemy forces. In an effort to break through the orbiting Separatist defenses, however, Ahsoka must learn a hard-hitting lesson after she disobeys Anakin’s orders – and loses most of her squadron as a result.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Deep Cover Sneak Peek

Here are a few more clips from this week’s parallel spanning universe Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Deep Cover featuring Batman taking on the Crime Syndicate.

When parallel worlds collide, Batman swaps places with Owlman–his criminal counterpart in an alternate universe–to stop the Crime Syndicate from taking over their world. Crime fighters in one world must battle their evil counterparts in a crime spree melee. Meanwhile back on Earth, Owlman has been perpetrating crimes disguised as Batman and assembled all the villains to join him. When Batman returns, he finds himself on the wrong side of the law and hunted by Green Lantern, Aquaman, Blue Beetle, Red Tornado and Plastic Man. Its a strange twist of fate that leaves Batman with only one option – to team up with Joker and take Owlman and the Crime Syndicate down!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Sneak

ACW_IA_28773_R-1sm.jpg

This weekend the Cartoon Network brings a Clone Wars Double Feature in the latest adventures of those in a galaxy far, far, away…

In “Blue Shadow Virus,” Padmé Amidala is captured while searching for a secret Separatist bio-weapons lab run by Dr. Nuvo Vindi (portrayed by science-fiction icon Michael York), a scientist as cold and calculating as he is evil. While they manage to find the mad doctor and uncover his scheme, they are too late to prevent the release of his deadly concoction – leaving Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi just 48 hours to find the elusive antidote in “Mystery of A Thousand Moons.”

I love the animation style, but some of the individual episodes have been hit and miss with me.  This two-parter looks like a hit for me, and I know where I’ll be tonight.

Clone Wars Reupped for Second Season

clonewarsreup.jpg

Good news for Star Wars fans, the Cartoon Network has announced it is giving the go-ahead for a second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The CG-animated series has been a ratings blockbuster for Cartoon Net. It scored the most-watched premiere for a series in the network’s history when it debuted Oct. 3, and has won its 9 p.m. Friday time period among boy demographics ever since. “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will conclude its first season on Friday, March 20.

While I understand the reason behind having season breaks, there is a lot of money tied up in Star Wars related material.  Considering George Lucas wants this series to run five years, the company might be able to capitalize by extending these seasons to 40 plus episodes per season.
