Check out this kick-ass teaser for an upcoming Buck Rogers web series that will supposedly launch in late 2010. I’ve seen the model in another place before, and if the rest of the effects work looks this good, the series might actually work. Of course there aren’t any scenes of actual acting, so it might completely fall apart there…

The MUSIC MEEEISSSSTERRRR! Sing the song that the world wants to heeeear! Man, I’ve had that stuck in my head for WEEKS, now. This particular RFR was meant to go up last week, just in time for the annual festival of half-price chocolate, but various things conspired to keep me from completing it until today. For those of you who can’t get enough comic review goodness, I’ve got the cowbell to slake your fever, and it’s time to ask ourselves, baby, what’s the word? In the words of the great philosopher Aloysius Bundy: “Let’s ROCK.”
Review: Buck Rogers #4
“The year is 1987, and N.A.S.A. launches the last of America’s deep space probes. In a freak mishap Ranger 3 and its pilot Captain William ‘Buck’ Rogers are blown out of their trajectory into an orbit which freezes his life support systems, and returns Buck Rogers to Earth five-hundred years later.” Don’t worry, this series is nothing like the 1980’s television series – and that’s not necessarily a good thing.

If you are going to reboot a classic tale, then 1) there better be a good reason to do it, and 2) there better be an homage to the original. In the case of Dynamite Entertainment’s Buck Rogers series, both options are covered in spades to deliver up a mind warping story.

Dynamite Entertainment’s latest foray into the futuristic sci-fi genre dishes up a slice of the past, mixed with an ample side today, covered in a bunch of “well you got me thereâ€.   With the title character’s final adventure done and over (see Buck Rogers #0), readers finally get a chance to see where it all began in this reboot of the Buck Rogers franchise.
