[Movies] Teen Titans: The Judas Contract finally getting the animated adaptation we were promised #SDCC
Several years ago we were told the classic Teen Titans: The Judas Contract would be adapted into a Warner Bros. animated movie. The flick was pushed to the back burner, but now, it’s happening, and on the way in 2017.
You know Bruce Timm’s style the moment you see it. You can tell it is Bruce Timm, because you’ve watched hundreds of hours of Batman: The Animated Series, and every other animated DCU property the mad genius has touched. That’s why Timm’s take on Daredevil is so awesome – because it isn’t DCU.
I have to give DC Comics/Warner Bros. credit when it comes to direct-to-disc animated films. They do a great job on nearly all the movies they make this way! I could spend the rest of this column outlining the ones I love best! I have to give Bruce Timm and James Turner cudos, of course! On the other hand, Marvel abandoned this way of making movies to devote their time to animated shows on Disney XD. After weeks of watching Wall-E again and again – my son’s current favorite movie of the moment, I convinced him that we should sit down and watch All-Star Superman that arrived in the Major Spoilers HQ this past week. The pull to get him to agree was that it featured the death of Superman. It worked on him, and I would bet that the plot point works to bring others into the Morrison fold.
