Major Spoilers Question Of The Day: Primitive Screwheads Memorial Edition

There are days when you’re the windshield, and days where you’re a dragonfly on a hi-speed rendezvous with a squeegee, and recently it feels like I’ve been having a few more of the latter than the former.  With a new schedule, an old family, and the beginnings of third grade (this time, I hope to master fractions) this week has been somewhat exhausting, leaving me barely coherent but still able to sing remarkably like the guy from Coldplay.  But, as a wise man once said,’When life gives you lemons, invent a cliche.‘  Or maybe it was ‘Get a receipt?’  Either way, you have to admit, Ash Williams is pretty awesome.

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would like to remind you that this is it’s boom-stick, asking:  What’s YOUR very favorite Bruce Campbell performance?

Major Spoilers Poll of the Week (POW!): B-Actor Edition

SDCC’10: Bruce Campbell to star in Burn Notice movie

One of my favorite cable television shows is Burn Notice on the USA Network. Not just for the spy action and A-Team cranked to eleven feel, but because of Bruce Campbell. Bruce makes the show, and is a favorite actor of mine. During the Burn Notice panel at the San Diego Comic Con it was announced a prequel movie to the television show is in the works, and it will star Bruce in a big, big way.

…movie to the series that will focus on Sam Axe, Bruce Campbell’s character, on his final mission as a Navy SEAL. The film will be set largely in Latin America, but it remains to be seen if it will be shot there.

I was very worried that Bruce was getting the bump from the show with this season’s introduction of the Hot Beef du Jour that was added to the show, but with this announcement it is all starting to make sense. While I’m excited that we might be able to see Bruce on the big screen again, the movie needs to take the action up another notch from the television show, making it on par with some of the biggest action films we’ve seen this summer.

Bruce Campbell vs. Frankenstein announced

Ain’t It Cool News is breaking the story that Bruce Campbell is reprising his role as Bruce Campbell from My Name is Bruce in an all new movie that begins filming this fall.

Hello everyone. Bruce Campbell here. This urgent message is short, because my keystrokes are monitored and I fear for my life. My partner at Dark Horse comics, Mike Richardson (normally a very rational and talented man), threatened to have his foot soldiers “crush my spleen” if I did what I am about to do. But the fans deserve to know, so with great trepidation I officially announce Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the sequel to My Name is Bruce. Principal photography begins this fall in Oregon. I’d like to live long enough to see the cameras roll, so please, for the love of God, do not tell anyone – I can’t risk this announcement getting back to Mike! Thank you.

I’m a bit disappointed by this news. While Campbell can and has done some very amazing things, My Name is Bruce was less than a good story.  Still, Bruce is Bruce, and I’m sure I’ll see this one as well.

What about you?

SDCC’09: Overheard at the Con – Burn Notice: The Movie

Twilight fans are nothing compared to the throngs of people who flock to every panel appearance by B-movie actor Bruce Campbell.  He’s there again getting the crowds to eat out of his hands, and on the Burn Notice panel, a bit of news was dropped that may have fans flocking to the DVD section of their local store.

According to network insiders, USA is talking with Fox, which makes the series, about producing a straight-to-DVD prequel that would cover Axe’s adventures before his attempts to help his best friend, blacklisted spy Michael Westen.

The panelists also said they have been thinking about a Burn Notice movie, but Campbell reassured the crowd that the film wouldn’t rely on heavy CGI explosions.

SDCC’09: USA Networks brings Campbell to pump Burn Notice

One of my favorite shows on television right now is USA Networks Burn Notice staring Jeffry Donovan and some guy named Bruce Campbell I hear all the Comic-Con fans are wild about.  The network is planning on hosting a panel featuring Campbell, as the company gives attendees a glimpse behind the show.  Also featured will be the debut of the network’s new show Psych.

Are you psyched?  Take the jump to read all the glorious info.  And be nice to Bruce Campbell at the show.  Working all day in Miami surrounded by the loverly ladies has got to takes its toll on an actor.

Review: My Name is Bruce

mynameisbrucepicon.jpg

For the last two years, I’ve heard the rumors and have seen the still images from Bruce Campbell’s feature film My Name is Bruce.  And while it looks like the movie is finally going to make it to the indie movie circuit, there are still a lot of questions that fans are asking about the film.  Some of those questions are answered in Dark Horse Comics’ release of the My Name is Bruce one-shot from a couple of weeks ago.
