Blade Resurrected?

niel.jpgI previously reported that Spike TV decided to can Blade: The Series for a second season due to declining ratings. Today I get word from Neil Jackson (via is MySpace page), that New Line is still behind the series and is currently shopping it around to be picked up by another outlet. FX? SciFi? G4? Any of these should jump on the chance to pick this series up to play during one of their off season moments. Since Eureak on SciFi is off for a season, now would be a perfect time for Blade to slip in and continue its better than average story.

Thank you to everyone who watched the show, stood in our corner and rallied for the cause. It was a blast to work on, and your encouragement and enthusiasm made it all the more so. I know this sentiment is echoed by the rest of the cast and crew.

The series is yet to air abroad, and there are also DVD sales which all could contribute to the show being picked up on another network, allowing Blade to rise into a new and glorious dawn (sorry… getting a little carried away). But for now I just want to thank everyone for your comments, mails and support.

No Blade Season Two

Word from co-star Jill Wagner is Spike TV has decided not to renew the Blade TV series for a second season.

Just wanted to say thanks again to all of you who supported me and Blade the Series. I was just informed today that there will be NO 2nd season of Blade the Series. I really enjoyed playing Krista and i hope that i did her justic at least for one season! However, that is not the end of Jill Wagner’s acting career. I will keep you guys posted on what’s next for me. Again i say thanks for the support. Hey, there is always the DVD right????

That’s really too bad, I was very keen on the show, even though ratings had slipped as the season wore on.  The characters in the television series had more depth than any portrayed in the three box office films.
