SDCC’10: Most awesomely expensive geek painting sells at convention

Bleeding Cool reports that this awesome Frank Frazetta Conan painting sold for $1.5 million at the San Diego Comic Con in a private sale with the Frazetta Management Corporation.  It is a defining Conan image, and worthy of an Art Appreciation Moment of the Day entry, but even if the currency exchange rate of Luthor Dollars to the U.S. dollar made me a multi-billionaire, I’m not sure this would be high on my list of Need to Buys.  Now if they tossed in a couple Nagels and a Vargas or two…*

I understand the full color image will appear in this week’s DC titles.

Art Appreciation Moment of the Day: Adam Hughes

Almost missed posting this today, and as we all know, if you don’t keep running a certain feature you run the risk of someone else stealing the name and claiming it for their own.  When in a rush, and when looking for something really spectacular, no one beats Adam Hughes.

Following the Slayboy incident from a couple of months ago, no gone thanks to a hard drive crash and an ISP who thinks a good way to back up data is to put the backup on the same drive as the main files, we’re bringing you another take on the image, but with a slight twist.
