Sketch covers are an interesting breed of variant cover. Sometimes you get a limited run sketch cover that is simply a print of the original work. Other times the cover is an actual sketch on a blank cover done by one artist and auctioned off or sold for a high price. More often than not, I see sketch covers that don’t live up to the hype, which is why I’m happy to show off this cover by Mike Mayhew that is simply stunning.

I really like the idea of the Drink and Draw – artist gather together at a local pub, down a few drinks, and spend some time conversing, sharing tips and tricks, and drawing until the bar owner kicks them out. Dave Johnson drew today’s Art Appreciation Moment of the Day at his local gathering.
