I’m still strangely drawn to Art Asylum’s Minimates, and though I’ve avoided the temptation to buy them recently, the upcoming Captain America Through the Ages collection just might drag me back in.  The four figure collection features Steve Rogers in various costumes from his years of exposure to comic book fans.  The set includes World War II, Suspended Animation, Armored, and Reborn costumes. Art Asylum announced the Marvel Select Cyclops figure a while ago that features a portion of the Danger Room as its base (presumably the other figures will have more Danger Room goodness). One of the biggest problems with any action figure toy line is the lack of other things for your figures to interact with.  Sure you may have Superman, Spider-Man, and that 12-inch Mego Fonzie that get along swimmingly with your cardboard box rendition of the Hall of Justice, but what happens when your action figures need to get from here to there?  Minimates have been one of those toy lines that have a lot of playability when it comes to replaying your favorite story lines from the comic book pages, but additional playsets and vehicles are really needed to enhance…

Growing up, I had a friend who had all the original Mego Star Trek figures.  On a few occasions I would go over to his house and marvel at how lucky he was to have cool toys.  One day he showed me the bridge to the starship Enterprise that featured a cool transporter that would zap those Megos to a new land.
