Marvel announced Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures Volume 1, has sold at at the distributor level. You know the rest, Marvel is going back to press with new printings, but this time instead of one variant cover, Marvel is offering two, giving fans a choice between Anita or Jean on the cover. There is a caveat – these variants will not be available at traditional bookstores, but rather only at the direct market comic book store. The two covers after the jump.
Here is something that comes as a complete surprise. Marvel sent out a press release this morning announcing it has “concluded its relationship” with Dabel Brothers Productions. Fans of Anita Blake Vampire Hunter know the Dabel Brothers brought the high selling title to Marvel back in 2006, and it has been a hit, getting new readers into stores. Instead of Dabel Brothers Productions keeping its many titles including Hedge Knight, Tales of Alvin Maker, and Wryms, Marvel will continue to produce these titles. Dabel Brothers Productions has announced Brett Booth will make an appearance at Wizard World LA. Marvel Comics has let us know that Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter in Guilty Pleasures #1 2nd pring has sold out. Lots of Anita Blake fans must be jumping on board, which have pushed sales over 60,000 copies. Further, issue #2 has sold out, and issue #3 is very close to selling out as well. Marvel Comics let Majors Spoilers know that because Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter in Guilty Pleasures #1 and #2 have sold out, the company have moved the release of issue #3 back one week to allow retailers to order more copies.
