There are so many announcements coming from the San Diego Comic Con, and the show hasn’t even started yet! For those attending the show this week, I’m sure there will be a lot of questions asked at the DC panels about the upcoming Harley Quinn series by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner.
Amanda Conner, whose artwork for Before Watchmen is adding a new layer to the Wacthmen mythos, will be appearing at The Long Beach Comic & Horror Con scheduled for November 3-4 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
It was delayed several months, but finally, the collected hardcover of The Art of Amanda Conner has arrived. Stephen thought it was so wonderful, that he ordered TWO copies. And since he is the generous person that he is, he’s giving one lucky Major Spoilerite a chance to take Amanda’s art home.
Which brings us to the MS-QOTD, “What character, or property, would you like to see Amanda Conner take over on an ongoing basis, and why?” You’ve got until May 07, 2012 to share your answer, at which point, we’ll pick our best answer to receive the prize.
Most of the time, when we look at art from a specific artist, we only get the final image. Sometimes we are able to see a couple of images of the work in progress, but rarely do we get to watch the artist in action. Today, not only do we get a look at Amanda Conner’s Silk Spectre, but we get a time-lapse video of Amanda drawing the piece.
The Baltimore Comic-Con is happy to welcome Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Billy Tucci to the still-growing line-up of talent for this year’s show. The show will be taking place the weekend of August 20-21, 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
Who doesn’t like Amanda Connor? If you said “me” then you are a dirty, filthy liar – EVERYONE LOVES Amanda Connor’s work, and her take on Catwoman will help the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
Amanda Conner is providing the variant cover to Supergirl #58 that arrives in November. Her take on Supergirl’s first appearance is really great, and deserving of being featured in the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day.
When creators leave a series, there are two possibilities – the series goes out with a bang with everything wrapped up in a tidy bow, or every plot point and story line leaves the readers hanging as they are never resolved. As Palmiotti, Gray, and Conner prepare to depart Power Girl, they leave the reader with a really good feeling.
It’s the climax of the two part story arc that started on a distant planet, but ends up with Power Girl and Vartox getting hot and sweaty together, only then do they dine on a fine sausage before impregnating an entire planet. All in a day’s work…
And her work looks amazing!
It’s following the formula
Three wild space chick naked in your bathtub seems like the making of a perfect evening in Atlantic City, except A) you aren’t that lucky B) ew – Atlantic City, and C) this kind of thing only happens in DC’s Power Girl.
DC has released a sneak peek of Power Girl #6 that arrives in stores this week. I’m interested to see what power team of Palmiotti, Gray, and Conner have installed for the Space Girls Gone Wild story.
