A Japanese toy commercial for Star Wars toys was thought to be lost for thirty years, but has now been found! Okay, not really….but this may be even cooler. We at Super7 produced our own retro-video for the STORMTROOPER SUPER SHOGUN figure, shot in the style of Japanese toy commercials from the 1970s. Using the old videos as our storyboards, a few sparklers, and a lot of effort has resulted in this fun video!
The Galactus 19-inch Deluxe Figure from Hasbro, finally arrived at the Major Spoilers headquarters this weekend. Take the jump for a quick look at the figures as I break the collector rule, by taking them out of the box.

During Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, Florida, Jon Stewart had the opportunity to sit down and talk one on one with Star Wars creator George Lucas as part of “The Main Event”. I really want want of these giant Galactus figures that is being sold at the San Diego Comic Con. Would love to have this experience, but alas, I think these things are going to go for megabucks on eBay in two weeks.
If there is one action figure package I want from SDCC’10, it has got to be the Starro mega-pack that features a bendable Starro (that I hear can fit over your own face for crazy hijinks) and five action figures that pay homage to The Brave and the Bold #28. While this figures themselves are going to rock in only the way that Mattel can serve up, it’s the packaging itself that might have many needing to buy two – one for the figures, the other for the awesome Kevin Conroy recording that is just a button push away.
Whilst browsing around my local comic book shop today, I saw an action figure set I just had to have: a pair of Nightwing figures, featuring both the modern and original designs. What can I say? Disco Nightwing is just that awesome. So I eagerly made my purchase, and upon getting the set home an idea dawned on me: why not write a quick review of it for Major Spoilers?
When it comes to action figures, there are a few things I want done really well – excellent points of articulation, great sculpt with lots of detail, and something something scaled to size to fit with the other action figures in the line. When it comes to Art Asylum’s Juggernaut figure for the Marvel Select line, I think all my expectations are going to be fulfilled. Hold on. Why do they always say that about the Juggernaut? I mean, am I wrong or do they not find a way to stop him EVERY TIME? Seems to me he gets stopped…
When Mattel released Green Arrow, the first figure in the Retro-Action DC line, it quickly sold out as the figure had the look and feel of the old MEGO figures from the 1970s. The company posted photos of the Wave 2 collection that features Batman, Two-Face, Aquaman, and Black Manta. Will they sell out as well?
