The Captain America and Thor movies arrive in theaters this summer. If you were lamenting finding action figures of some of the lesser known minority DC heroes, Mattel is finally bringing the likes of Black Lightning Vulcan, Bronze Tiger, El Dorado, and Samurai to store shelves.
Mattel is showing off the latest wave of action figures from its DC Universe Classic line. Take the jump for a look at figures based on the Flash Blue Lantern, Yellow Lantern Scarecrow, and more.
Mattel has announced that the limited edition 3 3/4-inch Green Lantern action figure with die cast ring is now available at Toys R Us.com. It’s a limited edition figure – only 2,814 units are available. The good thing is the online toy store is limiting it to one figure per customer, but I still have a feeling those who really want one will still need to go trolling on eBay in a few weeks. via Matty Collector
Art Asylum released pictures of the packaging for the 10th wave of Marvel Minimates currently headed to Toys R Us stores around the nation. The collection contains an exclusive Nemesis and Morph pack and/or a Sabretooth and Blink 2 pack depending on where you live and what stores you frequent. Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum released images of the packaging for the 38th series of Marvel Minimates. The series is based on the Shadowland arc that played out in the pages of Daredevil and features Evil Daredevil and Elektra, Big Time Spider-Man and Iron First, White Tiger (or Classic White Tiger) and a Hand Ninja.

Oh man, oh man! Mattel is showing off a new Justice League Unlimited 2-pack featuring Darkseid’s Parademons. While I really like DCU Classics version of the Parademon, this JLU version looks pretty sharp, and may be a harbinger of some very cool things to come. Hasbro has announced the new Star Wars exclusives that will be rolling out in select stores across the nation this fall.
Just a few more days until Back to the Future turns 25 years old, and it finally looks like we’ll get to see action figures and other toys based on the series. Global License magazine reports that Universal has created licensing deals with several companies. Included in the list Back to the Future action figures, accessories, and toy vehicles – MATTEL Die-cast vehicles – WELLY DIE CASTING Back to the Future interactive games – TELLTALE GAMES Universal actually announced many other deals for other properties, but I don’t think Smokey & the Bandit die-cast vehicles trumps the BTTF news. The second wave of the Green Lantern Classics line will arrive in next year, and Mattel is showing off the figures. The line includes Nautkellol, Medphyll, Skallox, Night Lik, and a secret figure that will appear in the upcoming movie, but due to the action figure release schedule, will actually debut as an action figure before a movie character.
