When you drop in to your local comic shop this week (you do go weekly, don’t you?) check out the toy section and check out (and maybe buy) Diamond Select Toys Amazing Spider-Man action figure. It’s based on the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man that arrives in theaters on July 03, 2012, so there may be some cool spoilery goodness to be seen in a close up, and best of all, check out the wall mountable display base!

I love what Diamond Select Toys is doing with their latest round of promotions for their toy lines. I have a sneaking feeling that Zach Oat (of ToyFare fame) is shooting these wonderful images of the company’s Marve Minimates in action.
I really like the detail and playability factor in the Marvel Legends action figure line, and this year, at the San Diego Comic-Con, toy fans are going to get their chance to get their hands on an exclusive X-Men set. Take the jump for a Major Spoilers first look at the figures.
I bet you can’t wait for the San Diego Comic Con to kick-off next month. There’s something for everyone at the show, and for those lucky few, show exclusives abound. Hasbro announced its Marvel Universe “Masters of Evil” figure set that you’ll be able to pick up on the show floor.

You’ve seen what they can do with Captain America, and Stallone from The Expendables, and now the company is teasing its line of 1/6th scale action figures based on The Avengers. Hot Toys posted this teaser image for an upcoming Black Widow figure, that I think will be a best seller. I think you can figure out why. via Hot Toys
I’ve been waiting for a super cool Rhino figure to beat up on the rest of my Marvel Select heroes, and Diamond Select Toys has come to the rescue with a new Rhino figure that is oversized to match the scale to the rest of the Marvel U.
Remember Rankin/Bass’s Mad Monster Party? Not many do, the stop-motion animated featured was unleashed on theaters in 1967, and it kind of disappeared after that. For 45 years, we’ve seen no merchandising tie-ins, but in September, Diamond Select Toys plans to fix that problem with a new line of action figures.
A few days ago we showed you what Mattel had in store for Masters of the Universe fans at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Now we get a better explanation, and look, at Vykron.
With The Avengers only a week away, everyone is going to be pouring over the merchandising opportunities. Diamond Select Toys has the Marvel Select figures based on the movie on the way, and the company is giving away Disney Store exclusives.
This week, we’re keeping it simple… kinda… We know that you love comics, and we do, too, but we also love toys, and our Nerd Rooms of Doom are littered (quite literally) with action figures of all shapes and sizes. Which got us to wondering, of the two big toy companies, which company do you have more toys from, and why? VOTE! [poll id=”231″]
