Episode #331 is a very special one as I interview two teams of high-power comics creators!
Author: Wayne Hall
Certain trends just tend to repeat themselves in the comics universes. I’ve recently noticed a few that are happening once again. Sadly.
In Episode 330, everything kicks off with Sean Wang, maker of Runners, a high-power, fun adventure series that tells a great sci-fi/fantasy story! Then the episode concludes with my interview with creator Mark Darden, who discusses his Guano Guy comic.
DC Comics had made a big deal out of their “Drawing the Line at $2.99” effort. But with printing and other costs continue to rise, I wondered how long that could continue.
Well, last Thursday, word hit the industry that DC is now raising the prices on some of their comics, both digital and print, with the lowest amount being $3.99.
First up is Michael Bracco, maker of The Creators, then everything wraps up with my interview with Kevin Roditeli, who discusses his upcoming series Glaxial.
Once again, it looks like Free Comic Book Day has accomplished its main goal – to bring awareness of local comics shops wherever it is held.
During Episode 328, I talk with comics creators Michael Terracciano and Garth Graham about their excellent sci-fi/adventure series Star Power!
Last time, I talked about how filmmaker James Cameron was hoping there would be “Avengers Fatigue,” meaning people would eventually tire of what he considered repetitive storylines.
Well, “Avengers Fatigue” didn’t happen this past weekend – in fact, far from it!
To get ready for this “Christmas in May” celebration, I talk in Episode 327 with two of the creators of Scout Comics Presents The Mall #0 co-writer James Haick and artist Rafael Loureiro!
You can always tell when superhero and other comics-related films are doing well – someone brings up a “fatigue” they hope moviegoers are experiencing!
It’s another double-header this week in Episode 326! First up is Stephanie Phillips, writer for Kicking Ice, a terrific story about two young girls and hockey, and Yawaan, a supernatural thriller dealing with possession. She discusses both books in depth, including how they came to be as well as who the characters are. For more about Stephanie and her comics, be sure to go to her website here. Then everything wraps up with my interview with Rafer Roberts, who talks about his upcoming Dark Horse miniseries Modern Fantasy and his webcomic Nightmare the Rat. Rafer tells us about each story,…
Even as a big Bat-fan, every so often I have to give the Man of Steel his due!
Now that Superman is going where no longjohns-wearer has gone before – 80 years of being published – it’s time to talk about Big Blue!
Landmark Episode 325 goes where this podcast has never gone before – Two interviews about the same great upcoming comic, Flavor from Image Comics!
Recently I heard that there was some unfortunate news about Wizard World’s cons, a group I used to get to quite frequently. However, I haven’t been to one in months, so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised by what I read.
