This week, in Episode 411, I have a great conversation with creator Frank Gogol from Grief and Dead End Kids, both from Source Point Press.
Author: Wayne Hall
Lois Lane is not a superhero. But she may as well be, given her ability to navigate through tremendous difficulties in a superheroic world. Take the jump for our review of Lois Lane #6 from DC Comics.
I wonder if trades are where the industry will be heading in the years ahead.
This week in Episode 410, I talk with creator Michael Dolce about the series, including its history and what we might see in the future.
How do you solve a problem like Supergirl? Let’s find out in Supergirl #36 from DC Comics.
It’s a tradition of mine to talk about what’s going on in the comics industry that I’m thankful for. After all, Thanksgiving is happening this week here in the United States of America. So, let me talk briefly about a few things I’m happy about!
This week in Episode 409, I talk with creators Jeremiah Stemple and Joseph A. Michael from Pathway.
Poor Dick Grayson has REALLY been hit hard recently, what with a bullet hitting his brain and basically removing many of his memories. He’s moved out of Gotham City to Bludhaven, and he’s Ric now, someone who never seems to be able to avoid his true past.
I always enjoy the fact that several people have thought the Scarlet Speedster was too powerful, so he was killed a few decades back. Yet today’s Flash comics are some of the very best stories featuring the character I’ve ever read.
Mister Freeze has been one of those low-level baddies that Batman would face from time to time. He was just a cold-hearted villain, but he didn’t amount to much… that was, at least, until Batman: The Animated Series. Wow, did he get an excellent fleshing out by Paul Dini!
Now Mr. Freeze is one of the characters I’m most interested in, particularly when he shows up in Detective Comics #1015 from DC Comics. The current storyline is very engaging, and I love what’s going on with him.
Indie creators are some of the most inventive storytellers in comics today, and this week I talk with one of the best up-and-coming talents around: Todd Black! Todd has a Kickstarter project underway for his book Tokyo Blade Detectives #1, and you can support him by going to this link! It’s described this way: “Tokyo, 200+ years in the future, nothing is what it was. In a land where guns are outlawed, only the blade can rule!” We talk about the series and how it came to be, who the characters are, and what the future might hold for this…
I love once-in-a-lifetime crossovers!
One of the best ways to get to know a character is to see his or her “dark side,” as it were. Explore the things the “real” person would NEVER do. And that’s what The Infected: King Shazam #1 from DC Comics is all about.
I hope you’re ready for another great double-header week! In Episode 407.
