I’m always intrigued by just what niche each comics publisher works to carve out for itself. Marvel and DC own superheroes, Image has an “image” of being an alternative publisher, and others move to make their own mark in the industry. Over the past several years, IDW Publishing has been developing relationships with other companies, and they’ve been really successful at it. This week, they announced a new partnership, and it’s with a company I particularly admire.
This past Friday, I received an email that caught not only my attention, but also many others who go to New York Comic Con, arguably the most-attended comics convention each year.
One of the few things I dislike about DC’s Rebirth is that it’s tough to sometimes know which issue is which Matthew Peterson has already reviewed Batwoman Rebirth #1, so that may make this issue “Rebirth Batwoman #1.” Augh! No matter what you call it, it’s good to have Kate Kane back in the black and red.
On Friday, another dream of mine was announced as coming true! Marvel (and if it’s successful, other companies will follow suit) is going to start advertising in movie theaters as well as on TV, as seen in this news item here at MajorSpoilers.com! I mean, I know so many fans who have been longing for this to take place! It really came into focus with a lot of us with the first Iron Man film from Marvel Studios. Why not point out you can buy comics about this character at the same time?
