Today at SXSW, Marvel announced it is giving away 700 free digital comics, which promptly caused the comiXology servers to slow to a crawl. The servers are back up (great job comiXology on fixing that fast), and people are snagging free comics left and right.

As expected, Marvel has announced a new weekly comic book series that is part of the Marvel Comics Infinite Comics initiative launched last year. And as we guessed, Wolverine takes front and center.

Diamond Comic Distributors has released the top ten book that sold to the direct market in February 2013, and as expected Marvel and DC took the top spots again. Image proved made a strong third place showing, nudging out IDW Publishing and Dark Horse Comics to close out the top five.
