DIGITAL COMICS: Marvel gives away 700 free issues

Today at SXSW, Marvel announced it is giving away 700 free digital comics, which promptly caused the comiXology servers to slow to a crawl. The servers are back up (great job comiXology on fixing that fast), and people are snagging free comics left and right.

SOLICITATIONS: Quesada and Bendis on board for Age of Ultron finale

Though it just kicked off, Marvel is already teasing the end of the Age of Ultron by letting everyone know that Marvel Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, will be doing the art duties on the closing pages of the Age of Ultron series.

MARKET SHARE: Top Ten Books for February 2013

Diamond Comic Distributors has released the top ten book that sold to the direct market in February 2013, and as expected Marvel and DC took the top spots again. Image proved made a strong third place showing, nudging out IDW Publishing and Dark Horse Comics to close out the top five.
