I’m growing more and more restless as we crawl ever closer to the weekend and the New York Comic Con. I’m also growing more and more jealous of those who are going to the New York Comic Con. One of the things I like most about these shows is getting to see the prototypes and exclusive toys coming from the various manufacturers. Diamond Select Toys has sent Major Spoilers the rundown for the panels the company will appear on, as well as some of the exclusives at the show.

EW.com has the first images of the Watchmen action figures based on the upcoming Zack Snyder movie from Warner Bros. The figures look spectacular, I just hope they are truly action figures instead of nicely molded pieces of plastic that end up as inexpensive maquettes for those who can’t afford the real deal. If you happen to be in New York and are attending the New York Comic Con, DC Direct will unveil the first four prototypes on Friday, April 18. BTW: Both figures will arrive in stores in January 2009 with a price tag of $14.99. via EW.com

When The Spectacular Spider-Man began airing on The Kids’ WB! on The CW, I knew there was something very familiar about the art style that I had seen somewhere before. I was right, and following the Deviant art site on a regular basis, I found this picture of Otto Octavius. Is this your first look? I don’t know, but you can see the full image after the jump.

Entertainment have announced the man with a million heroes under his belt is adding a few more to the roster with Legion of 5.  No word on what Legion of 5 will be about (I bet there are five of them), but there are already plans for a computer generated film “Legion of 5” — owned jointly by Rainmaker [Entertainment], POW! and Brighton [Partners] — is planned as a series of CG-animated films but with a cross-platform approach to include games, online and mobile releases. DreamWorks is on a major scramble to nab up all sorts of properties, and the latest acquisition is the Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell, which the company plans on turning into a 3D live-action movie. Created by Masamune Shirow, “Ghost in the Shell” was first published in 1989. It went on to generate two additional manga editions, three anime film adaptations, an anime TV series and three videogames. The second anime film, “Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence,” was released in the U.S. by DreamWorks in 2004. Jamie Moss will write the adaptation with Avi Arad, Ari Arad and…
