The Vertigo comic Exterminators is heading to the small screen. Showtime and Dexter executive producer Sara Colleton plans to bring the title to the cable network. But don’t expect the series to be a perfect adaptation. In its Showtime incarnation, “Exterminators” will revolve around the Bug-Be-Gone crew, an extended dysfunctional family of exterminators whose greatest enemies aren’t the insects and rodents they meet and kill on a daily basis but rather their own self doubts, vices and inner demons. Is Exterminators something that can be easily adaptated, or are the themes and special effects too much for subscriber cable? via…

Wendy and Richard Pini have teamed up with Warner Bros. to bring their long running indie comic Elfquest to the silver screen. The film will be written by Rawson Thurber, who will also direct and produce. The original comic, which the Pinis initially self-published starting in 1978, followed a tribe of elves known as the Wolfriders in their attempts to survive and link with other dispersed elves on an Earth-like planet with two moons while on the lookout for tribes of humans and trolls, both of which acted as allies and enemies. There have been multiple attampts to make the…
This time out, we got crises, we got kudos, we got barbarians, we got chainmail bikinis, and while Stephen and Matthew flashback to 1985, Rodrigo nods and thinks about larping… We got a little love for the alien penis beast (and really, who needs more love than the alien penis beast?) we got a little love for the floppy pamphlet (which actually sounds dirtier than alien penis beast) but most of all, we got a little love for Uncle Barry, Cousin Kara, and even the late, lamented Ten-Eyed Man. Strap on your rocket pack, straighten your cape, and prepare yourself…
Time for round 2 in the Major Spoilers smack down of pop culture characters. Last time Hans Moleman kicked the crap out of the Moleman. This time we pit the new Battlestar Galactica Cylon against the Infinite Crisis Omac. Who will win, who will lose? FIGHT! [poll=39]

I’m in the process of cleaning out the Major Spoilers Toy Closet (something that is taking forever). The toy collection goes back nearly 20 years and contains a variety of figures (some are for sale), and I’m constantly amazed at the number of different styles a particular character can take. This brings me to… Yes, take the jump and see all the Darkseid incarnations.

While browsing the Interwebs this morning I saw a post talking about the low box office performance of the Incredible Hulk. 2008 is certainly the year of comic book movies, and with the initial praise the film received, I had to check out the facts for myself.
I’m betting you see this animated flick before the next installment of the Ultimate Hulk/Wolverine smack down.
And the series continues…
Here is the New Comic Release list for comics scheduled to be in stores July 10, 2008. There may be items on this list that are not shipped at the last minute, or new material may be added. Check with your local retailer for more details. This list was last updated July 7, 2008.
With Marvel Apes debuting in September, Marvel will also release Monkey Variants for many of its titles. Kicking us off are the variant covers to Ghost Rider #26 and Moon Knight #21. For some reason people go bananas for monkeys in comics, and variants seem to do well too, so I guess Marvel will have a couple of sell out titles on its hands. Take the jump for a peek.
