Rumors are floating around that John Woo will direct the Radical Comics adaptation of Caliber.  Of course it won’t be official until next week at the San Diego Comic-Con, but hey, now you know.  Others are poo-pooing the idea as Woo is in the middle of his three part Red Cliff films. It’s a day of news from Boom! Studios. The company has announced a brand new project from Andrew Cosby and Stephen Baldwin called Remnant. “I wanted to do a comic that asked the big questions but answered them in little ways,” said Baldwin.  “Philosophy and spirituality are complex beasts, but I believe literature’s purpose is to contextualize these tricky subjects into entertaining stories that speak, not preach, to the reader.” Fans of Baldwin’s work can find the actor at San Diego Comic-Con signing special-edition preview books at the Boom! Studios booth.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting actor turned director/producer/writer Justin Theroux is in final negotiations with Marvel to script the second installment of the Iron Man franchise.  The first film had four writers; Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway. If you are unsure of Theroux’s work, Tropic Thunder is coming out in August, which also stars Robert Downey, Jr.  Iron Man 2: Electric Boogaloo is scheduled to kick of the summer movie season in 2010. via THR

If you didn’t see the illegal Spirit Trailer that floated around the interwebnets yesterday, you are in luck as you can see the trailer in its official form over at Yahoo!Movies.  I’m still not sure the movie is going to be the super hit Sin City and 300 were.  It does have some lovely ladies, and I do like the Sand Seref stories that Will Eisner wrote, and Frank Miller has capture the noir look, but I’m not sure I’m digging on the look of the film just yet. IDW Publishing has announced it will be collecting the three-issue mini-series Snaked into a trade paperback.
