This time around: The SDCC without SD? DK2, all for you? Thunderbolts are go! The scion of Asgard meets the sons of the plains! The young Dark Knight meets an ancient ritual! And we ask that musical question: Was the Satellite of Love better before the crate of Hamdingers? Plus: can anyone make Matthew give a rat’s hindquarters about Bullseye and Venom? Even if Matthew is not a big fan of all the Secret Invasion tie-ins, the complete Skrull invasion can’t be told without spilling into “a few” additional issues. Marvel has sent Major Spoilers two sneak peeks that tie directly into Secret Invasion – Avengers: The Initiative #16 and Black Panther #40.
With Danny Ketch back, what does it mean for Johnny Blaze? Marvel has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of the issue that arrives August 20.
If you liked Mark Millar’s Wanted, then you will really get a kick out of Marvel’s Kick-Ass six issue mini-series, which takes a look at the question, “What would happen if someone tried to be a superhero in the real world?” The series has already been picked up to be turned into a movie, and has sold out several times at the distributor level. In order to get you ready for the next issue, Marvel is sending issues #1-3 back to print and collecting them in the Kick-Ass Must Have one-shot. Best of all, the price point for three issues…
Last week there was a small Mystery Science Theater 3000 reference in the Major Spoilers Poll. Considering Comic Con International: San Diego just had a get together of all the MST3K people, I thought it was a good time to open this wound once again. [poll id=”43″]
I’m usually not big on the non MMO video games, heck my console selection is pretty limited to old generation Xbox, PS2, and a PSP. However, the latest screen shots from LEGO Batman: The Videogame have me thinking a PS3 might be on my birthday wish list. Take the jump for more images.
Superhero Hype! found an interesting listing in Production Weekly announcing X-Men: First Class. While this could just be a way of securing the property should Fox decide to move forward with the movie, it is more likely in pre-pro hell as a potential X-Men prequel ala Wolverine. via Superhero Hype
I’ve been fairly pleased with the offerings WOWIO has been giving away for free (internal ad support) from its website. A few weeks ago it was announced Platinum Studios purchased the company and plans on taking it global. That relaunch is in two days. Considering Platinum has been under fire by nearly everyone – including former Platinum Fanboy D.J. Coffman, I’m wondering if this relaunch is going to tank or if anyone will see any difference? Thoughts?
If you missed all of the San Diego Comic Con coverage, there was a lot of stuff going on after all, IDW has sent Major Spoilers the rundown of all the new titles the company announced for the rest of 2008 and into 2009.
With Watchmen on everyone’s lips, it was only a matter of time before artist interpretations of the characters from the film an comic started popping up on the net. Here’s The Mico’s take on Dr. Manhattan. Looks pretty cool, but to see the rest, you’ll have to head over to his site. via The Mico
Xingu Films has announced it has acquired the rights to American Reaper, an upcoming graphic novel by Pat Mills and Clint Langley for Repeat Offenders. The story is set in a future where identity theft leads to victims having their minds erased and replaced by those of the elderly rich seeking a second youth or by criminals and terrorists with more sinister motives. A team of special agents, known as Reapers, are formed to track down and terminate those responsible. Too bad this is all fiction, as I would love a team of comandos to track down and punish identity…
