Demographics
It is expected that a large percentage of our readers would fall under the stereotype of traditional comic book readers. This serves as a benefit for advertisers who are targeted towards comic book readers. But, our numbers are indicating a shift in which our traditional viewership is expanding to include different population segments, thus benefiting a broader range of companies. As expected, our readership is primarily male, but our numbers indicate that the female sector is growing. This trend will benefit your company because a wide variety of products or services can be advertised – it is not limited to masculine or non-gender specific products or services. The following graph represents Major Spoilers’ gender representation.
Age and Sex

While it is no surprise the majority of readership is male, nearly 20% are female, and our numbers indicate that number is growing.
In 1995, DC conducted a survey to determine the age range of comic book readers. The study showed the then average age of readers was 25. Ten years later, and the average age changes to match.

While it does appear the Major Spoiler reader skews to the older demographic, when the ages between 18 and 30 are combined, nearly 55% of the Major Spoilers readership is in the key age demographic for advertisers.
Spending Habits
It is also important to consider the spending habits of viewers when determining if advertising on Major Spoilers is right for your company. The following graph illustrates what our viewers spend weekly on comics and related merchandise. The percentage amount is the percentage of viewers that spends that amount of money. This information is the not disposable income amount of the viewer, it is merely the amount spent in a certain area of the market.

Reader Testimonial
We love our readers, and our readers love Major Spoilers. Here’s what some of our readers have to say about this site.
What about Newsrama and CBR? True on the size, zero on the interest. MS was before and is now again my FIRST stop for comic book news and reviews and that’s because of YOUR personal touch, something they cannot match ever.
I found MS earlier this year and it immediately became a daily stop for news and some of the best reviews around…
Of all the comic news websites I read, you managed to offer, clear, concise news coupled with humour, insight and geekalicious background info.
This is the best comic site period.
I actually wasn’t that up to snuff on comics less than a year ago but finding your site filled the big gap in my geek lore that I had been missing. And I totally fell in love with numerous comics and comic book characters that I hadn’t cared about, or even heard of before. I wouldn’t be half the geek I am now without you guys.
I only found the site 4 months ago but visit many, many, many times a day. And whenever nothing new had been posted, I enjoy the heck out of going through your Archives and catching up and learning about titles I’d fallen behind on, or learning about those that I may have passed by.
Your loyal fan from Poland says: thank you, guys. You helped me to discover the world of American comic, you gave me a chance to jump into it, and most of all – you are the greatest guides I could ever imagine.
We know readers want to get to the content they seek. Because of this, Major Spoilers limits the number of ads per page, making the available ad space that much more valuable. To ensure that you have the opportunity to have your ad featured on the site, we do employ ad rotation. Ad rotation is kept to a minimum of no more than four ads per space.
