I always like to remember the introduction to Jeff Rovin’s seminal Encyclopedia of Super-Heroes, opining that a comedic hero like Underdog is not only equally as impressive as Superman or Captain Marvel, but perhaps more so. After all, it’s easy to punch evil when you’re a genius ninja detective, but you have to work harder when you’re a kung-fu beagle in a domino mask. Thus, we come to discuss two heroes stout of heart and steel of face, each of whom holds an important place in their respective worlds, leading us to today’s teflon-covered query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is just proud to get through this without any jokes about pot-heads, asking: Forbush-Man or The Red Tornado?

Irving Forbush, because in and out of story he’s solidly satirical. On the other hand, I get the sense that DC feels the need to treat Ma Hunkel as a ‘serious’ character on some level, undercutting her utility as a parodic paradigm.
I have no idea who Forbush-man is, but he got great look!
