This week’s Dueling Review gave us the debut of Yara Flor, who is about to become another Wonder Girl.  Cassie Sandsmark, the previous one is still floating around with Young Justice, while HER predecessor, Donna Troy is around somewhere, last I heard.  There is also the Wonder Girl who was nothing but Wonder Woman’s teenage self projected by a magical device, the one who was played by Debra Winger and the cadre of Wonder Girls from the DC bombshells reality, leading to today’s Amazon query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) still loves Donna’s red leotard and hip stars, which probably makes me old, asking: Which Wonder Girl is YOUR Wonder Girl?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

  1. 60’s 70’s 80′ Donna Troy. Are they even considered to be a single character anymore……shrug.
If I had to narrow it down a bit I would have to say the “New Teen Titans” version before the whole ‘I am a daughter of the universe stuff’. That series is so iconic.
    I too am old.

The one that appears the most in comics in my collection is Cassie in the Peter David ‘Young Justice’ run, so probably her, though I don’t really have an affinity for any of them.
