They sometimes say that your favorite Beatle is a decent indicator of you personality. For me, it’s John, though I appreciate Ringo making his own space among fellow creators that even his own fans consider to be more talented. (If it matters, I have a similar feeling about the Monkees, where my fave is laconic leader Mike, with esoteric Peter as a close second.) But for my money, the real judge of your brain-type is your favorite robot. And since most of you are too young to have an opinion on the merits of V.I.N.Cent or B.O.B., we’ll go with second best, leading us to today’s cybernetic query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) enjoys Artoo’s sailor joie de vivre and the fact that he’s clearly cursing up a storm, but thinks that Threepio’s long-suffering prissy distress is super-understandable, asking: R2-D2 or C-3P0?

They’re a pair. Asking us to pick one over the other is like asking us to pick Abbott OR Costello, Sonny OR Cher, Simon OR Garfunkel. Wait, okay, maybe we can do this.
Based on the scenes we’ve had where we’ve only had one and not the other… C-3P0 brings more enjoyable moments for me. Threepio without Artoo is a straight man for Han Sole, et al. and a clever way to provide needed exposition without breaking immersion. Artoo without Threepio is a straight-forward get-‘er-done character that let’s Luke talk to himself. Threepio aims to get along as a team player, while Artoo can barely contain his disdain for the incompetence of those around him.
And now I know what the MS-QOTD for Monday should be!
If given the limited supply of options available here I would go with R2-D2…. to me he had more personality.
but I would put Huey , Dewey or Poor Louie over either of them.(lets see how many get that reference.)
Me
Or Della?
I had to look up the chihuahua reference…
Can’t have Laurel without Hardy.
