To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Deadpool, Marvel has tapped Rob Liefeld to art up a bunch of variant covers for its comics.

“When the opportunity to illustrate 30 variant covers commemorating Deadpool’s 30th anniversary came up, I literally jumped at the chance! I went over a quick checklist with the Marvel brass and I think we’ve picked a great array of Marvel’s biggest and brightest stars to pair with the Mighty Merc over 30 unique covers!” Liefeld said. “It’s giving me a chance to draw Deadpool with Marvel stars I’ve never drawn before, like Miles Morales and Silver Surfer! This is going to be grand, I hope the fans enjoy this special event, it’s a blast putting it all together!”

That’s right – 30 Rob Liefeld covers coming your way in 2021.  Here’s a sample of what we have so far.

  1. what in the hell happened to Deadpool and Miles’s torsos there?? is that a dumb question when it comes to Rob Liefeld? should i just roll with it? do i have a choice?

  2. Jarmo Seppänen on

I think we’re at the point when we can look and remember Liefeld’s art in Marvel with sort of nostalgia. There has been worse things to happen in comics and I might be as bold to say that Frank Miller in Batman was one of those, because we never moved on from that on the grand scale and its been 35 years.
