As one of the first X-Men villains (and the first one to be really successful who isn’t named Magnus), the Juggernaut holds a special place in the Marvel Universe. Weirdly, though, that place isn’t wholly consistent, with him going from pure evil to misunderstood and back half a dozen times, as well as being the only member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants who is not actually a mutant… right now. The question of whether Cain Marko is a mutant or not a mutant is a tough one, and many assume that he is due to proximity and being the brother of Professor X, but his powers come from a magical gem of extradimensional origin. That said, he has been called a mutant often enough that the name has stuck with some folk, leading to today’s unstoppable query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) isn’t asking for an “Official” answer from Marvel.com, as even the creators have gone back and forth on this question, instead asking what your first instinct says, asking: Juggernaut: Mutant or Not A Mutant?

Not a mutant. As he’s Charles’ step-brother, he’s not blood related. Stan Lee went out of his way to ensure that it was clear that he wasn’t a mutant, and I can’t think of a good reason to retcon that.
not a mutant. forgive me if i’m not up on lore, but he gets his powers from the Cyttorak crystal, doesn’t he? nothing genetically-based to his strength or….unstoppability? whatever. the thing where once he starts running, he can’t stop.
Erm, not mutant, I think, since he’s related to Xavier from non mutant side, I guess and got his powers from magic item given by a demon.
