DC Universe, DC Comics Staff See Layoffs Amid WarnerMedia Restructure

DC Comics and streaming service DC Universe have been impacted by parent company WarnerMedia’s corporate realignment, with layoffs at both units. But a source tells Variety that through WarnerMedia’s streamlining efforts, the DC brand will actually be expanding, with DC chief creative officer Jim Lee overseeing creative of all DC-related growth in the company.

Christopher Eccleston Returns to Doctor Who as The Doctor in 2021

After a big falling out with production staff, Christopher Eccleston left Doctor Who after the first season of 2005, replaced in the role of The Doctor by David Tennant. He also declined a planned return to the role alongside Tennant and Matt Smith for the 50th Anniversary The Day Of The Doctor, which saw his place taken by John Hurt as The War Doctor.

‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’ Release Date Moved Up a Week; Behind-the-Scenes Featurette Released

Good news, everyone! Bill & Ted Face the Music will now be released one week earlier. After previously announcing that the film would be released both in theaters and On Demand on the same day, Orion Pictures today announced that Bill & Ted 3 will be released one week earlier in both formats – August 28th.
