It’s a wacky crossover as the Justice League heads to the Black Hammer universe! Or is it the other way around?

BLACK HAMMER JUSTICE LEAGUE #1
Writer: Jeff Lemire
Artist: Michael Walsh
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics/DC Comics
Release Date: July 10, 2019
Cover Price: $3.99
DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics present the ultimate superhero crossover event of 2019!

A strange man arrives simultaneously on Black Hammer Farm and in Metropolis, and both worlds are warped as Starro attacks! Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, and more crossover with Golden Gail, Colonel Weird, and the rest of the Black Hammer gang!

I’m always a little leery when a story that uses archetypical characters tries to cross over with the source of those archetypes, but Black Hammer is a very skillfully created book. I like how quickly and effectively both casts are introduced and the switcheroo.

Also: Callin’ it now, that’s totally Mxyzptlk.
Matthew's Thoughts

An interesting start and an interesting premise. I am interested to see where this story goes. You kind of need to be a fan of both series to really want to pick this up though. That being said, this is very new reader friendly.Stephen's Thoughts
