For the first time in years (thanks mostly to limited channel options due to my upcoming move), I actually watched an episode of ‘South Park’ last night, and even enjoyed it.  Granted, it was a rerun of the ‘Awesom-O’ episode from 2004, when the show hadn’t worn out nearly as much of its welcome, but still…  Regardless of Trey and Matt’s cultural relevance, it’s actually kind of a dream of mine to have a robot friend, thanks to the terrible influence of Disney’s ‘The Black Hole’ on my youth.  As an adult, though, having V.I.N.Cent correct and educate me seems like it might be annoying, and R2D2 is kind of an unpredictable wild card and a bit of a jerk.  Machine Man would steal all the beer and The Red Tornado is always crying about something, leading us to today’s cybernetic query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would definitely choose K.I.T.T. because he’s bulletproof, keeps me from having to walk places and won’t come inside and annoy me unless I wear my two-way wrist radio, asking: Which automaton would you want to be your forever robot friend?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

No contest! K-9! Robot and dog in one, he’s smart, and he still wags his tail. No one else compares!

I assume we only count actual robots and no androids, like Data. I’ll say Aigis from Persona video games.
