One conversation you have often when you’re a comic book nerd is the question of what superhuman powers you would most want to have.  For me, it’s always been a toss-up, as my standard response has been to choose either super-speed or wings.  On the one hand, you could soar above all the traffic and mock the poor foot-bound losers, but on the other, you could just a’whooooosh by them at the speed of sound.  Either way sounds great, especially if your speed is the Barry Allen-time-dilation style and not the Quicksilver sounds-like-exercise type, leading to today’s winged-boots-or-winged-back query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is leaning towards super-speed, but might enjoy super-speed WITH wings, except for all the aerodynamic issues, asking: Super-Speed or Wings?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

Depends on how fast speed we are talking about. If its like Flash or at least Quicksilver level, then speed because it allows same sort of advantages as wings but without inconvenient body parts, like crossing water by just running on it.
