Destin Daniel Cretton Marvel’s Choice To Direct ‘Shang-Chi’

EXCLUSIVE: Marvel Studios is setting Destin Daniel Cretton to direct its first superhero movie tentpole franchise with an Asian protagonist. Cretton is directing Just Mercy , a film he wrote that stars Brie Larson and Michael B. Jordan. This is in keeping with the studio’s goal to take Shang-Chi in a direction like Black Panther and populate it with Asian-American talent.

Disney Completes 21st Century Fox Acquisition

Before the East Coast airing of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” ends tonight, Disney will formally seal the deal on its $71 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox. “This is an extraordinary and historic moment for us – one that will create significant long-term value for our company and our shareholders,” said Disney chairman-CEO Bob Iger in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

Disney Reinstates Director James Gunn For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 3’
