This morning, I was struck by the desire to watch Saturday morning cartoons like I did in the 1970s, but the programming patterns of the modern age got the better of me.  Fortunately, I DVR blocks of Looney Tunes on Boomerang for just such an emergency, but I sadly lacked recordings of ‘Super Friends’ or ‘Jason of Star Command.’  I know those shows weren’t as good as I remember them due to youth and the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia, but I still miss Super Friends and kind of wish it was still on, if only because it tried to teach lessons that modern fandom could still stand to learn, leading to today’s E/I query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would have also enjoyed seeing ‘Beakman’s World’, asking: What program (or programme, for our European Spoilerites) of your past is SO missed that you wish it was still on?

Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.
