As a comic-book reader of the eighties, I remember the debut of Spider-Man’s cool black costume and the gradual transition into becoming a separate villain character. As such, I don’t have the love of Venom that some do, since to me he’s one of Spidey’s rogue’s gallery and not even a particularly unique one at that. Still, there are those who remember ‘Lethal Protector’ fondly and consider the giant ebon tooth-creature as not only a hero, but one of their fave-rave heroes, leading to today’s symbiotic query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) has a massive crush on Jenny Slate, though, asking: Do you share the internet’s new/rekindled love of Venom?

Not really. But I don’t have anything against Venom Either, its just that I don’t consider him as an a-tier Spider-Man character. Interesting development for Secret Wars souvenir though.
Not a renewed interest, just the same somewhat steady interest I’ve had since the get-go, mixed with a little hope and unease with Sony’s track record.
I’m hoping it will at least be an enjoyable movie. As long as it is better than Spider-Man 3’s portrayal of Venom (and the trailers seem to point that way), and better than the recent Fantastic Four movie, I’ll be happy. I don’t need it to stay 100% true to the comics, I just want Venom to be true to Venom in a way that makes sense in the transition from page to screen.
Honestly, since ASM 300 the only Venom anything that’s interested me was that recent X-Men Blue story.
I missed out on Venom in the Eighties, but will watch a Venom movie, nevertheless.
