Late last year there was quite a bit of buzz regarding the Marvel Create Your Own application that allows users to create their own Marvel comics. Today, we have our first look at the interface and learn a bit more about the application.

A couple of other bullet points that have come up in the last couple of days:

  • Any comic you create is the property of Marvel
  • You can not create content that “could frighten or upset young children or the parents of young children”
  • No drugs whatsoever – that includes vitamins.
  • No suggestive or revealing images
  • No sensationalism
  • No bad language or symbols for bad language
  • No noises “related to bodily functions”
  • No politics including “alternative lifestyle advocacies”

And the list goes on and on.

Here is the real kick in the teeth. While some characters are free, others will cost $2.99.

So, who is still interested in this app?  You can sign up and begin using the Marvel Create Your Own service now.
