Hulu, Amblin Television, and Warner Bros. Animation are teaming to bring back the Warner Bros. (and the Warner sister) for a two-season run on Hulu.

The 1990s animated series not only introduced Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, but included a slew of other cartoon characters including the Orson Wells inspired Pinky and the Brain, Slappy Squirrel, and the fan favorite Chicken Boo. In addition to the crazy antics and adventures, the Animaniacs also brought a fantastic musical component to kids and adults during a time when animated television shows were… lacking.

Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer of the series, with new episodes set to premiere on Hulu in 2020.

“I am so pleased and proud that ‘Animaniacs’ will have a home at Hulu,” Spielberg said. “Together with Warner Bros., we look to bring new audiences and longtime fans into this wild world of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I am also excited that the full library of ‘Animaniacs’ and ‘Tiny Toon Adventures’ episodes are included in the deal.”

While we don’t know if any of the original voices or behind the scenes talent are returning, we do know that Andrea Romano retired last year, due to health issues. Rob Paulsen, who voices Yakko, Pinky, and Dr. Otto von Scratchansniff, has been doing a Talkin’ Toons podcast on Nerdist, which may have sparked interest in bringing the series back.
