There have been a number of eras in our favorite pop culture in which everybody became a superhero. The late sixties, the mid eighties and the gleeful modern mash-up culture have lent themselves to Suddenly Superhero versions of Goofy, The Monkees and even Harley, an ingenue from soap opera ‘The Guiding Light.’ Even Earl from the less-than-cleverly-named animatronic dinosaur sitcom ‘Dinosaurs’ donned a cape once, which is both weird and awesome, leading to today’s Kryptonite-infused query…

MacGyver would be amazing science-based hero. He’s got all the necessary traits except powers.

I’d say Homer Simpson, but I’d bet Quimbys to Donuts they’ve already done it. Possibly more than once.
It might be interesting to see what Gregory House, MD did with superpowers… or his spiritual predecessor, the infamous Sherlock Holmes.
Funny that you mentioned House in that i was strongly considering the grandmother of the Charlyne Yi character. She was fun!
