With the success of the Deadpool movie, and the fan reaction to Cable, it makes sense that Fox would want to expand its mutant franchise even further with the X-Force.

20th Century Fox has confirmed it is expanding the X-men universe with X-Men: The New Mutants, which opens on April 13, Deadpool 2 arriving on June 1 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix landing in theaters on November 2. Now with X-Force, it has tapped Drew Goddard, the brains behind the Netflix Daredevil series, to direct and write the spin-off flick.

According to Deadline, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will be the leading force, and it looks like Cable will be added to – because why not?

Ryan Reynolds, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Simon Kinberg are producing.
