Apparently, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 is about to end, once again causing the George RR Martin fans in my life and my social media to wonder about the adventure of Brand, Ariana and Sandra and the zombie apocalypse somewhere in what looks to be Norway. (Yes, I’m one of those guys who mocks things I don’t watch. Sorry. I’ll try to be better…) Though I’m not a Throney (people who like ‘GoT’ are called Throneys, right?), I feel their pain, as there are a number of shows that I want to just get on with it and reach the end of hiatus already, as I’m looking forward to a new season of ‘Supergirl’, more ‘Westworld’ and the final season of ‘The Mindy Project’, even as it will make me sad. The summer is always frustrating, even if it means stupid summer fill-ins and ‘Project Runway’, leading to today’s haven’t-yet-watched-The-Defenders-so-I-might-want-more-of-that-too query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is having a mental wrestling match about whether my answer is ‘Brockmire’ or ‘Westworld,’ asking: What current-dormant show, book, comic or movie series do you most withs would reach end of hiatus and come back already?

The Dresden Files books. They used to come out at about once a year, but now there hasn’t been a new one for over 3 years with no update in sight.
Fantastic Four. sigh.
Warren Ellis and Ben Templesmith’s Fell. it was pretty disturbing police procedural comic (closer to the style of Seven than CSI though) done in a deceptively simple nine-panel-per-page format. The protagonist was done in a very familiar style (the Sherlock Holmes/Vincent Donofrio from Law and Order “i’m 3 steps ahead of you and i’ll make you slip up” detective archetype) yet still managed to sound fresh. Great art (if you’re into Templesmith, and i am), great snarky banter, and there were only 8 or 9 issues released before Warren Ellis’s hard drive crashed and he moved on to other projects. Pretty unlikely that either creator will line their schedules up to finish the series (it was set to have a finite end and Ellis was only about halfway through the story), but a body can hope.
High quality Fantastic Four would be welcome.
Young Justice!!!!
Man, I need to get in on this Young Justice thing…
