Lately, I’ve been slowly coming around to the modern theory of binging on new shows as they become available. Though I haven’t yet escaped my old-school “appointment TV” ways, I’ve been enjoying the option of watching a big batch of shows all at once, something I did with the second half of the latest season of ‘The Mindy Project’ and have been trying to do with ‘Other Space’, though the internet has been fighting me on every second of that one. It reminds me of my days reading huge swaths and complete runs of comics, as I did with the entire first volume of Ghost Rider back in the day, leading to today’s streaming query….
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would truly love right now to sit and watch the entirety of ‘Battle Of The Planets’, in the proper order, asking: What pop culture (of any era or medium) would you most enjoy binging this weekend, if you could get it all?

Pre-Tiga Ultraman series. I’ve seen quite a bit, but there are a few series I haven’t seen in their entirety, and a few films and at least one series (“The Ultraman”, the animated Ultraman series from 1979/1980) that I haven’t seen at all (except maybe clips or select scenes).
Actually, I wouldn’t mind a marathon of the entire Ultra franchise that lasts as long as it takes (with obvious breaks to rest and such). But the pre-Tiga series and films are the ones I’ve had the most difficulty finding.
But for more specific choices, I would love to get my hands on the two Japanese exclusive Transformers Beast Wars anime series (“Beast Wars II” and “Beast Wars Neo”).
My current binge is Blake’s 7, that old British series that is a spiritual precursor to Farscape, by the creator that brought us the Daleks.
I was pretty close to watching 6 hour documentary on All Japan Pro Wrestling, so their best era, which was when all of “Four Pillars” were active, roughly 1990-1999. Never before and never since has there been consistently so good wrestling anywhere. Modern New Japan is getting close.
The original Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Although I would like to binge watch the reboot except I think the characters look too realistic.
