The best day of the week just got a lot better with a new round of awesome comics arriving in stores this week. Staff members at Major Spoilers are here to help you with your comic book selection this week, with their roundup of comics they recommend.

Batman Elmer Fudd Special #1BATMAN/ELMER FUDD SPECIAL #1
Writer: Tom King
Artist: Lee Weeks
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: After a chance meeting with billionaire Bruce Wayne, Elmer Fudd’s obsession quickly escalates into stalking Batman through the dark alleys and high-class social settings of Gotham City. Welcome to Bat Season! And the bonus Looney Tunes backup story features DC characters written by Tom King and artwork by Byron Vaughns.

STEPHEN: STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW AND RUSH OUT IN A BUYING FRENZY TO GET THIS BOOK! It is that good. Really. It’s like Sam Spade met Will Eisner, and they took a detour in Albuquerque and ended up in the outskirts of Sin City (minus the killing, and the boobies, and the black and white). This is definitely the best book you will read all week.

Writer: Fabian, Jr. Rangle
Artist: Javier Caba
Publisher: Dynamite Entertainment
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Diego and Gabriel Soliz are two unusual brothers just trying to do their job in an even more unusual city. What’s their job? They’re detectives in a city populated by creatures from mythology and fantasy. When an Aztec skull is stolen from the museum, the BLOOD BROTHERS are assigned to the case!

MATTHEW: This seems like it could be something entirely wonderful, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the book has to offer. Plus: One guy seems to be a masked luchador…

Writer: Paul Allor
Artist: Nelson Daniel
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: When the mysterious Mr. Boddy turns up dead at his own dinner party, everyone’s a suspect! Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum-all the familiar faces from the famous board game are back, with a couple new twists. But will Boddy’s Body be the last to fall, or is it just the beginning? Follow the clues and solve the mystery in IDW’s new CLUE series!

MATTHEW: This looks fascinating, but always remember: Communism is just a red herring!

STEPHEN: I’m always up for a good mystery, even if it has a lot of tongue in cheek in it. Not too bad of a book, and worth picking up.

Writer: Jimmy Palmiotti, Bill Matheny
Artist: Dave Alvarez
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: When miner Yosemite Sam strikes it rich, word gets out as everyone comes gunning for his wealth! To protect himself and his new riches, he hires bounty hunter Jonah Hex–but the man protecting him may be his worst nightmare

MATTHEW: Too dumb not to be fun…

Writer: Mariko Tamaki
Artist: Joëlle Jones
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $5.99
SOLICITATION: Having her life torn to shreds and burned to ash has forced Supergirl to choose between the world she was born on and the world that adopted her. Can Kara Danvers find a way to be super—or will she crash and burn?

STEPHEN: This is an expensive book – perhaps more expensive than it needs to be. That being said, this has been a super interesting take on young Kara Danvers and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s the final issue, so you may want to read the previous ones first.
