DC Rebirth has given me a lot to think about, but near the top of the list is the interesting relationship between Batman and The Flash.  DC editorial has dubbed them “the best detectives in the DCU” (which disrespect J’onn J’onzz and Detective Chimp, I feel) and has paired them in finding out the truth behind the button found in the Batcave, which may or may not be Rorschach’s pin, taken from The Comedian’s corpse in ‘Watchmen.’  Historically speaking, their friendships with Superman and Green Lantern, respectively, are higher profile, but seeing the Scarlet Speedster and the Darknight Detective as fast friends works quiet well, leading to today’s fraternal query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would also like to see more of the friendship between Luke Cage and The Falcon, last seen in ‘Mighty Avengers’, asking: What unexpected pair of characters should be teamed as fast friends more often?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture!

And a nice red uniform.

I’d like Mignola to have Hellboy to continue having team ups. Top candidates would be: The Spirit, The Phantom and maybe Mandarake The Magician with Lothar.
