3) JOLT


Advertised as containing “all the sugar and twice the caffeine”, Jolt was released during the less health-conscious times of the 1980s.  Of course, the contents of the soda weren’t much different from today’s energy drinks, and those who loved it swore that it was amazing.  I never found the taste to be very far off from your Shasta or RC Cola, myself.  Much more memorable in my mind was Hallie Takahama, the first recruit to the Thunderbolts in Marvel Comics of the 1990s.  Given that the rest of the team consisted of Baron Zemo and The Masters Of Evil in disguise, her tenure was particularly fraught.

I always wondered if the lightning bolt was in reference to the label of the cola can…
