So, a bunch of people on the Innernets have a lot of ideas about who Harley Quinn’s perfect man is.  Most of them involve some sort of emotionally abusive clown-faced dude (not even always The Joker), but a few geniuses seem to think that Harley’s off-the-wall madness would meld well with the fourth-wall breaking joie de vivre of Wade “Deadpool” Wilson.  This potential power couple seems like a horrific idea to me, although their costumes do go well together, but that may also be the fact that I think ‘Pool’s perfect woman is Vanessa from his movie outing (who better damn well show up for the sequel, Fox Studios!)  Regardless, what I believe isn’t always what the magical intarweb folk believe, leading us to today’s matchmaking query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would still like to see Rick from ‘The Walking Dead’ and Robin Scherbatsky from ‘How I Met Your Mother’ meet up for a lovely evening of canned spaghetti and gun repair, asking: What two characters from any fictional universes would make the most perfect potential power couple?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

  1. Well, if you hadn’t specified fictional, I would have said Captain Jack Harkness and John Barrowman just because it would be funny since one is a reasonably successful public actor and the other is all secretive and works in the shadows. And it would all be right up Jack’s alley.

But I’m going to take a little bit of a trip off the expected path and say Sarah Jane Smith (of “Doctor Who”) and Ralph Hinkley (of “The Greatest American Hero”). It makes sense in my head, but I’m not sure if anyone else would see it the way I do.

I would like to see either captain Kirk or Picard with one of the recent Dr Who companions. First have them on Enterprise, then in Tardis.
